Features

  1. Riverfront Trail
  2. Trails
Description
Trails reveal another world behind 12A plazas, where Mascoma and Connecticut rivers meet.

Parking
Parking is behind K-Mart Plaza, off NH 12A just North of I-89 northbound.

Highlights
Views (both rivers, I-89 bridge); riverside connector trail (to smaller City parcel south of I-89 behind Upper Valley Plaza); lightly wooded floodplain forest (basswood, aspen, white oak); mitigation wetland (exchanged for development of Powerhouse Plaza); wildlife (mink, fox, beaver, deer, moose).

History
Parcel’s earlier use as sand/gravel pit and construction dump belies natural community on rebound. Acquired by Upper Valley Land Trust in 1989, transferred to city of Lebanon in 1990. Lebanon Rotary Club plans to help restore this gem for public enjoyment in “String of Pearls” project along Mascoma River corridor.
