Refill NOT Landfill Month

Reduce, REUSE, Recycle!

On Wednesday, April 11th, Mayor Suzanne Prentiss read a proclamation designating the month of April as "Refill NOT Landfill" month. 

During the month of April, the City of Lebanon encourages residents to use refillable travel mugs and water bottles to reduce waste that would ultimately be disposed in the Lebanon landfill.

Delinquent 2017 Property Tax Payments

Please be aware that the online payment option for paying past due 2017 property taxes will be temporarily disabled beginning April 27, 2018. During this time, 2017 property taxes must be paid by cash or cashier's check and received in our office no later than 4:30 pm on May 2, 2018. This action effects Property Tax payments only. Please contact the Tax Collector's Office at 603-448-1720 should you have any questions.

Job Shadow Day 2018 at LEB

On April 3rd, LEB Airport hosted 8th graders in a Job Shadow day. Students were from Lebanon Middle, Indian River, and Chelsea Public schools. Students learned about different types of careers in aviation and what is required to enter these fields. Students talked directly with corporate pilots, flight instructors, and Air Traffic Controllers, and got to sit inside and learn about a corporate jet.

Arts & Culture Task Force

At its March 21st meeting, Lebanon City Council took action to establish an Arts and Culture Task Force and is accepting applications for members who are willing to serve. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Arts & Culture Task Force, please submit your application by Friday, April 13, 2018.

Let's Talk About Energy!

On Friday, April 13th, Lebanon's Energy & Facilities Manager Tad Montgomery will be describing exciting local energy initiatives such as Lebanon Community Power, the landfill gas-to-electricity project, and Liberty Utilities' household battery proposal. Sustainable Lebanon will introduce its aim of supporting renewable energy and all things sustainable. The event will be held at Kilton Public Library from 7:00 - 8:30pm and will be repeated on April 27th. Come join the conversation. Ideas are welcome!

We need YOU! The Planning & Development Department is still seeking additional input on the desirability of allowing digital signs in the City of Lebanon. According to results thus far, 65% of those taking the survey believe digital signs should continue to be prohibited in the City of Lebanon. Take the survey and let us know what you think! Rabies Clinic & Dog Licensing Event

The Lebanon City Clerk’s office is excited to announce that we are teaming up with Stonecliff Animal Clinic to offer a Rabies Vaccination Clinic and Dog Licensing Event! This event will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9am to 11am at Lebanon City Hall.

Dog licenses are due by April 30, 2018 and rabies vaccinations are part of the licensing requirements. The purpose of this event is to help provide a means for owners to easily obtain a rabies vaccination for their dog AND license their dog before the deadline.

Recreation & Parks Highlights

Couch to 5k – April 10th through July 4th; This introductory program literally walks then runs you through the basics. Designed with the out of shape or beginner in mind. Includes UVRC Membership, race shirt, race entry and coaching. Ends with Red, White and Blue 5k on July 4th. Register online at LebanonNH.gov/Register.

Granite State Track and Field – Registration Deadline: Monday, April 16th; Open to youth ages 8-14, offers instruction in basic running events, jumping and throwing. Ages 9-14 as of 12/31/18 may compete in the Regional Meet in an attempt to qualify for the NH State Meet. Register online at LebanonNH.gov/Register.


April Breakaway Trips – Wednesday, April 18th through Friday, April 20th; Grades 5 and up, sign up with a friend and choose your adventure for school vacation. Spaces are still available in the following trips: Space Entertainment Center, Chunky’s Movie Theater and Strategy Zone.

Final Winter Farmers’ Market – Saturday, April 21st 11 am to 1:30 pm, LHS Cafeteria; Join us for the Final Winter Farmers’ Market in conjunction with the Five Colleges Book Sale. Enjoy wonderful selections of local fresh produce, plants, prepared foods, baked goods and handmade crafts. Please support our local farmers and vendors by shopping at the Lebanon Farmers’ Market! Note: There will be no Farmers’ Market on Saturday, April 7th.

Earth Day Sale – Celebrate Earth Day 2018 as we participate in the sale of Compost Bins, Rain Barrels, Kitchen Pails and Compost Turners sponsored by the Northeast Resource Recovery Association. Ten-year warranty and guide to composting are included! Purchase online at LebanonNH.gov/Register. Pick up will be available the week of April 23rd.


Wallcrawlers – Monday, April 23rd 2:35 pm to 5:30 pm; Grades 5-8, come climb with Leb Rec after school. This drop-in program is designed to pick up participants at LMS, travel to Green Mountain Rock Climbing Center, boulder and climb with belay. Pack snacks, water bottle and good clothes to climb in. Savvy Seniors: Lakehouse Tavern –Tuesday, April 26th; Let’s visit the Lakehouse Tavern in Hopkinton, NH. Hopefully the deck will be open for seating. Afterwards, we will visit the NH Audubon Society in Concord, NH, checking out their sanctuary trails, mews, reptile room and indoor exhibits. Call 603-448-5121 to register.

Tiny Tykes – Mondays, April 30th through June 11th; An introduction to the basic skills of soccer for children ages 2-5. Both programs use fundamental soccer activities, games and stores to develop their skills in the following areas: balance, agility, coordination, technical skills, gross motor skills, physical development, social skills, self-confidence, communication and teamwork. Lebanon Food Truck Festival – We’ve accepted 12 food trucks to the festival. Your ticket includes entrance to the festival with access to purchase food at the food trucks and alcoholic beverages from Salt hill Pub, a ticket for a $3 sample at any food truck and live entertainment by Brooks Hubbard Band! Tickets for children ages 5 and under are free and do not include a free sample. Tickets are on sale at LebanonNH.gov/Register.
