Lebanon City Manager Shaun Mulholland has announced the hiring of James Donison to the position of Director of Public Works for the City of Lebanon, effective December 17, 2018.
Mr. Donison serves as the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works for the City of Lowell, MA presently. Jim also served as the City Engineer for the City of Keene NH and the Assistant Public Works Director in the Town of Hooksett, NH.
Mr. Donison is a graduate of the University of Guelph, Ontario where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Jim is a certified professional engineer in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Ontario, Canada. He also holds certifications in erosion and sediment control as well as a stormwater inspector. He is a licensed water and wastewater plant operator.
Mr. Donison will assume the position which was left vacant by long serving DPW Director Michael Lavalla who retired this past summer. Interim DPW Director Bruce Temple will assist Mr. Donison in the transition to his new position with the City.
Mr. Donison will be responsible for the Department of Public Works which is composed of four divisions; Municipal Services, Solid Waste Disposal, Water Treatment and Waste Water Treatment. The operating budget is just over $11 million with 49 employees.
Mr. Donison looks forward to working with his staff to address the long list of capital infrastructure projects to include the sewer interceptor projects, completion of the CSO projects, the downtown tunnel rehabilitation, water treatment facility upgrade and numerous roadway reconstruction projects.
