What is Lebanon Citizens Academy?
Lebanon Citizens Academy is a 12-week program that consists of one 2-hour session per week designed to educate residents about the inner workings of their local government. Participants will hear from and interact with staff members, engage in hands-on activities, and tour city-owned facilities.
What can you expect?
You can expect to learn the ins-and-outs of your local government, from the processes to the people responsible for providing the services.
Classes begin in February 2019 and will cover the following topics:
- City Manager, City Council, Budgeting, CIP, Work Plan
- Land Use Boards, Committees, & Commissions
- Master Plan, Other Boards, Committees & Commissions
- City Clerk
- Recreation & Library
- Fire Safety
- Police Department
- Your Community Airport
- Public Works
- Water Plant
- Wastewater Treatment Facility
- Landfill / Recycling Center
Who Can Enroll?
Any resident of Lebanon/West Lebanon who is at least 18 years of age may apply. The minimum enrollment for each session is 15. The maximum enrollment is limited to 30 participants.
