[ARCHIVED] Lebanon Community Power - Update #1

We are entering exciting times in the development of new approaches to energy and climate action. The Lebanon Energy Advisory Committee (LEAC) is actively developing projects to reduce the City’s power costs and environmental footprint. LEAC has just written a description of its progress called "Lebanon Community Power Update #1," which includes discussions of the following:

  • Streetlights - Upgrading the City's to high-efficiency LED units
  • Landfill gas-to-energy project
  • Community solar developments
  • Lebanon Community Power - exploring the potential for municipal aggregation

This last item is the proposed name for a whole new system of electricity organization that we believe could revolutionize local, renewable power generation. It would use a community aggregation arrangement combined with a novel pricing structure called 'Real-Time Pricing' that could result in substantial savings for homeowners and businesses.

We are working with Hanover, Liberty Utilities, the NH Public Utilities Commission, and a number of other players on these projects. Check out the following "Lebanon Community Power Update #1" for more information, or contact the new City Energy and Facilities Manager: Tad Montgomery at 603-442-6140 or email: Tad.Montgomery@lebcity.com.
