On April 3, 2018, the Lebanon Police Department hosted fourteen 8th grade middle school students from the Lebanon Middle School as part of a job shadow program set up by Careers CLiC (Connecting Learning in the Community). Taken from their press release, “Job Shadowing enables youth to observe workplace hosts as they go through a day on the job. Business volunteers provide an opportunity for students to see how skills taught in the classroom are applied beyond school walls. Students gain insight on careers hey might pursue in the future.”
The students who visited the police department actively participated in hands-on learning sessions including basic police roles and equipment presented by Officer Nick Alden, K-9 operations and a K-9 demonstration with Officer Hewes and K-9 Kymba, special investigations, as well as tactical operations and equipment.
