The Lebanon City Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Shaun W. Mulholland of Manchester, NH, as the next City Manager. Mulholland is a long-standing public servant with twenty-seven years of leadership experience at the local, state and regional levels. Mulholland was appointed as Town Administrator in Allenstown, NH in 2013, previously serving as their Police Chief.

Mulholland brings to Lebanon extensive experience in municipal government including strategic and capital planning, emergency management, personnel management, grant writing and community-based advocacy at the regional, state and federal levels. In 2015 Mulholland was named the recipient of the New Hampshire Municipal Association’s Russ Marcoux Municipal Advocate of the Year as well as in 2010 Mulholland was named the New Hampshire Emergency Management Director of the Year.

Mulholland emerged as the City Council’s top choice and is slated to take the helm at Lebanon City Hall on January 22, 2018. Lebanon’s Mayor, Sue Prentiss states that “Shaun is a demonstrated leader in municipal government with the expertise and understanding that Lebanon needs to address the complex issues before us today and into the future. Prentiss also shared the Council is looking forward to working with Shaun and thankful to the City staff and the community for their support during the process, singling out Interim Manager Maville for her dedication and steady hand leading Lebanon’s team.  

The Lebanon City Council began a process to recruit and select a new City Manager in early 2017. City staff and community members assisted the Council during the search process. Municipal Resources, Inc. was engaged to by the City Council to conduct a nationwide search. Over a 6-month period, an exhaustive process was conducted resulting in thirty prospective candidates from eighteen states.

An Open House will be held on January 31, 2018, to formally introduce and welcome Shaun to our community. The event will start with Lebanon City staff at 3:00p.m. and open to the public from 4:00-6:00p.m.
