Kristopher Locke, age 32, of Randolph, Vermont has been charged with Kidnapping, First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault on a 17-year-old male who resides in Lebanon. A warrant was brought by the Lebanon Police Department last week and served on Locke at the Grafton County House of Corrections where he was being held on other related charges.
The charges arise from an incident that occurred in July 2016 and allege that Locke befriended the 17-year-old male and during the course of this friendship introduced the male to a female Locke identified as Shannon. The communications between Shannon and the 17-year-old male were always through electronic messages and they never met in person. In July, the male victim was contacted by Shannon and told she had kidnapped Locke and that the male needed to do as she said otherwise she was going to kill Locke. The male was then told to go to a park in West Lebanon and once there he experienced physical assault and emotional tormenting but was eventually able to escape.
The 17-year-old male reported the incident to the Lebanon Police after he started to receive messages from Locke and believed that it was in fact Locke who had done these things to him at the park and not Shannon. The Lebanon Police investigated the incident and determined the person who was purporting to be Shannon was in fact Kristopher Locke.
A probable cause hearing was held on January 3, 2017 and the matter has been bound over to the Grafton County Superior Court. Locke is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
