On Wednesday August 23, 2017 at approximately 6:05PM the Lebanon Police Department received a call from the Boulders Apartment Complex at 20 Wolf Road for a report of a male subject who had displayed a handgun inside an apartment during a dispute. It was reported that a male resident had become angry with his girlfriend and retrieved a semi-automatic handgun from his bedroom and proceeded to chamber a round of ammunition in front of three adults and three children, ages 8, 6 and 4.
One female victim was able to leave the apartment with her three children and responding Lebanon Police Officers were able to request that the remaining two adult victims exit the apartment as well. Lebanon Officers surrounded the apartment in question and over a period of 45 minutes, were able to negotiate with the male suspect and eventually convince him to leave the apartment and come outside where he was taken into custody without incident. Officers from the Hanover Police Department, New Hampshire State Police and the Hartford, VT Police Department responded mutual aid to Lebanon during this incident to assist.
Scott O. Emerson, age 29, of Wolf Road in Lebanon was arrested and charged with Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, a Class B Felony. Emerson was held on $7,500 cash bail and transported to the Grafton County House of Correction. He is scheduled to be arraigned today, 8/24/17, in the Grafton County Superior Court.
