Big changes are on the horizon for downtown West Lebanon. The City is embarking on the revitalization of Main Street, creating commercial and residential opportunities, enhancing traffic flow, and repurposing sections of the Westboro Railyard for public enjoyment.
The West Lebanon Revitalization Advisory Committee (WLRAC) conducted a survey to gauge public sentiment regarding the future use of three properties located at 14, 28, and 30 Main Street, which were recently acquired by the City. The initial recommendation was to convert these properties into a versatile mixed-use development, blending both commercial and residential spaces. Additionally, there was an exciting possibility of relocating the West Lebanon fire station to this area. The survey results are in, revealing that 60 percent of the 350 respondents favor the concept of mixed-use development, while an overwhelming 78 percent support the idea of combining 14, 28, and 30 Main Street into one contiguous parcel. The West Lebanon Revitalization Advisory Committee met for a special meeting on October 30, 2023, to review and discuss the results of the survey. The next step will be to take final action on a recommendation to the City Council at the WLRAC meeting on November 20, 2023.
