On 7/8/17 at approximately 11:20PM the Lebanon Police Department received a call from a local restaurant regarding an unwanted intoxicated male refusing to leave the bar area of the restaurant at the request of staff. Officers responded and located the man inside with the assistance of employees. The male was repeatedly asked to leave by the officers and each time the intoxicated male subject refused. Officers then advi
sed the subject that he was under arrest and attempted to take him into custody, at which time the subject began to physically resist.
Officers utilized a Taser in an attempt to take the man into custody, but the subject continued to resist and struggle with the officers. Joshua O. Goodwin, age 33, of Stage Road in Plainfield, was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor. Goodwin will also be facing charges of Simple Assault on a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct, both Class A Misdemeanors. He was later released on $1,500 Personal Recognizance bail and will be arraigned on September 11, 2017 in the New Hampshire 2nd Circuit Court, Lebanon District Division.
