The Lebanon Solid Waste and Recycling Facility is excited to announce a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future for our community. Plastic film and bag recycling is now being accepted next to the cardboard and brown paper bags recycling area. This initiative aims to reduce plastic waste and promote responsible recycling practices. What can you recycle? The newly introduced Trex plastic film recycling program includes the list below, as well as many other plastic films:

  • Produce bags
  • Store bags
  • Cereal box liners
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Bubble wrap

For a complete list of all the types of plastic and plastic film accepted, please visit LebanonNH.gov/SolidWaste and navigate to the "What Goes Where?" page and search “plastic.” There, you will find detailed information on the plastics and plastic films that can be recycled, ensuring that you make the right choices when sorting your recyclables.

Textiles and clothing, such as coats, shoes, bedding, clothes, and much more, are accepted. By searching "textiles" on the "What Goes Where Page?", you will see a detailed list. This expansion allows you to responsibly dispose of your unwanted textiles, preventing them from ending up in landfills.

By properly recycling plastic film and textiles, you are making a positive impact on our environment, conserving valuable resources, and contributing to a cleaner, greener city.

Spread the Word: Let your friends, family, and neighbors know about our new plastic film recycling program and textile recycling. Remember, to enter the Solid Waste and Recycling Facility, you need a solid waste permit. Together, we can make a substantial impact!
