New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean P. Toomey, Lebanon Fire Chief Chris Christopoulos, and Lebanon Police Chief Phillip Roberts announce that the Lebanon Fire Department responded to 5 Meadowbrook Village in West Lebanon at 1:18 AM on Sunday, August 28, 2022, for a building fire with an explosion.
When the Fire Department arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the maintenance building. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries. The Lebanon Fire Department was assisted by the following towns: Hanover, Enfield, Canaan, Hartford, VT, Norwich, VT, and Woodstock, VT. During the investigation, it was determined that the fire was intentionally set.
A suspect was quickly identified, and the Lebanon Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Micah Bouton, age 37, from Hartford, VT, charging him with Arson, a Class B Felony. Bouton was arrested later the same day by the Hartford, VT Police Department. Bouton is being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, VT, where he is awaiting a hearing scheduled for Monday, August 29, 2022. He will be extradited back to New Hampshire to answer to the arson charge.
The Lebanon Police Department was assisted by the Lebanon Fire Department, the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Hanover Police Department, and the Hartford Police Department during this investigation. The cooperation between all these agencies allowed for a quick arrest.
