In the early morning hours of August 26, 2022, the Lebanon Police Department responded to a report about suspicious individuals looking under vehicles at a local business. The individuals then hid when they noticed they were being watched.

When Officers arrived, they located a male outside of a vehicle with the hatch open along with a female sitting in the car. While speaking with the two parties, Officers observed sawzall cutting tools, and blades and batteries outside and inside the vehicle. Additionally, a police scanner was found inside the vehicle.

The man was identified as David Gilmore, age 44, from Strafford, VT. The woman was identified as Shannon Cota, age 35, from Corinth, VT. Gilmore was found to have a warrant and was taken into custody. During the arrests, both Cota and Gilmore were in possession of suspected methamphetamine and heroin.

They both face an additional charge of Loitering or Prowling, a Violation. Gilmore and Cota were released on Personal Recognizance bail with a Grafton County Superior Court date of September 29, 2022.
