The Justice System Training and Research Institute at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., in partnership with the New England Association of Chiefs of Police, recently recognized Lebanon Police Department’s Lieutenant Richard Norris, Lieutenant Michael Wright, and Corporal Nicholas Alden successful completion of comprehensive Command Training Series programs for police supervisory personnel.
On March 11, 2022, Lieutenant Norris and Lieutenant Wright completed the Mid-Management Course. The Mid-Management Course is a weeklong program with coursework addressing contemporary concepts of management and leadership that is relevant to middle managers in a modern police agency.
On April 8, 2022, Corporal Alden completed the First Line Supervisor Course. This two-week course addresses contemporary concepts of management and leadership as they apply to first line supervisors in a modern police agency.
In both programs, experienced academics and law enforcement practitioners discussed topics that included operational leadership and management principles, problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal communications, labor relations, disciplinary issues, and ethical decision-making.
Along with Lieutenant Norris, Lieutenant Wright, and Corporal Alden’s accomplishments, the Lebanon Police Department will continue to strive to provide the highest quality service to the citizens and visitors of the City of Lebanon.
