[ARCHIVED] City of Lebanon ISO Fire Protection Class Improves

The Lebanon Fire Department recently received notification that the department's ISO rating has been upgraded.

"Lebanon Fire Department personnel, Lebanon Police and Fire Communications and the Lebanon Department of Public Works, Water Division have worked hard to improve our rating, which will in turn save our citizens money on insurance," Fire Chief Chris Christopoulos, Jr said in a press statement. "The final rating gives the City of Lebanon a 3/3X in the Public Protection Class."

The ISO rating is based on various areas of fire protection including personnel, apparatus, training, water supply and fire and life safety prevention/education. The new rating will be effective on April 1, 2022. After that date, citizens protected by the fire department are encouraged to contact their home and business insurance companies to let them know about the change and see what savings those insurance agencies might offer them.

"The reduction from a 4/4X to a 3/3X could result in a significant insurance premium cost reduction for many of our residents and commercial property owners," said Chief Christopoulos. "I want to thank city staff for the hard work that went into our system review late in 2021."
