Thanks to our many customers, the Lebanon Recycling Center recycled a combined total of nearly 2,000 tons of glass, plastic, steel, aluminum, paper, and cardboard in 2021. The impact on our environment is huge.
Together we:
- Saved 4,595 trees by recycling paper
- Conserved enough energy to power nearly 35 homes by recycling aluminum cans and foil
- Kept 3,170 bags of plastic bottles and containers out of the landfill
- Conserved enough energy to drive a car 6,466,425 miles by recycling scrap metal
Also in 2021, the Lebanon Solid Waste Facility started a Food Scrap Drop-Off. This new program was well received by nearly 175 households. Collectively, these households kept 39 tons of food scraps out of the landfill.
