On December 6, 2021, the NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs (NHBEA) approved the City's request to renew the designation of six Economic Revitalization Zones (ERZs) in Lebanon, including lands near the Airport, Iron Horse Park, Etna Road, River Park, Downtown Lebanon, and Downtown West Lebanon. The six ERZs in Lebanon were originally designated in 2016 and are required to be recertified and renewed every 5 years.
New Hampshire created the ERZ Tax Credit program (RSA 162-N) primarily to encourage the retention of existing businesses and the re-use of existing buildings, and secondarily, to attract new businesses. Businesses located within a designated ERZ can apply to NHBEA for short-term tax credits applied against the State's business profits and enterprise taxes.
More information about the ERZ program and how local businesses and property owners can benefit can be found on the City's website at LebanonNH.gov/ERZ.
