[ARCHIVED] Lebanon Police Announces Partnership with West Central Behavioral Health

WCBH Mobile Crisis, Lebanon PD & Hanover PD

The Lebanon Police Department collaborated with West Central Behavioral Health in the creation of their Mobile Crisis Unit to help greater assist individuals suffering from mental health issues, along with other social service-related issues.

On July 22, 2021, Lebanon Fire, Hanover Police & Fire, and Enfield Police Department attended a training held at the Lebanon Police Department to introduce the program to Upper Valley first responders and provide information on how to access the unit for response.

A Mobile Crisis Unit is a community-based, face-to-face service that uses professional and peer intervention. A two-person Crisis Team will respond to calls of individuals in crisis or in need of social services. The team will then assess the needs of the individual and assist in resolving the situation with the least intrusive outcome. The goal of this partnership is to increase access to the appropriate support services and health care resources and improve communication between first responders and medical/mental health services.

Chief Phillip Roberts is optimistic in this new collaboration. “The Lebanon Police Department is excited to be partnering with West Central Behavioral Health,” Chief Roberts said. “We look forward to this opportunity of using a collaborative team approach toward delivering better mental health and social services to the community.”

Individuals seeking assistance from West Central Behavioral Health Mobile Crisis can call their 24-hour line at 1-800-564-2578. In case of emergencies, individuals can call the Lebanon Police Department at 603-448-1212 or 911.
