[ARCHIVED] New Police K-9 Joins the Force

Officer Scelza & K-9 Allergo

A new Police K-9 has joined the Lebanon Police Department. K-9 Allergo is a year and a half old male German Shepherd that was born in Slovakia on October 13, 2019.

K-9 Allergo will be partnered with his handler, Officer Logan Scelza. K-9 Allergo was selected after a long vetting process that involved numerous K-9 candidates.

German Shepherds are known for being very intelligent, loyal, courageous, and friendly working dogs. K-9 Allergo will be dual trained in both drug detection and patrol functions at the Vermont Police Canine Academy in Pittsford, Vermont beginning in July of 2021. Upon completing training, Officer Scelza and K-9 Allergo will be assigned to the Patrol Bureau.
