On May 26, 2021, at 3:15 PM, Lebanon Police Department responded to a report of a male threatening a group of juveniles near the Lebanon Mall. A second caller advised that the male was chasing the juveniles with a hammer. When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was identified as David Monmaney, age 51, from Lebanon, NH.
Officers learned the group of juveniles entered a local store where Monmaney was working. Monmaney confronted the juveniles, as they are witnesses for a previous case involving his arrest on May 21, 2021. Monmaney brandished a hammer and threatened the juveniles with it.
Monmaney was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Threatening with a Deadly Weapon, Witness Tampering, both Class B Felonies and Contempt of Court, a Class A Misdemeanor. Monmaney was held in preventative detention and will be arraigned on May 27, 2021, in the Grafton County Superior Court.
