On Saturday, April 17, 2021 at approximately 11:04 PM, Lebanon Police Department responded to a call from Circle K on Main Street of a male who was in the store attempting to steal alcohol. The caller also reported that when the male was confronted by another customer, the male displayed a machete in a threatening manner.
Officers arrived on scene at Circle K and located the suspect on Bridge Street. The male suspect refused to comply and fled on foot. A taser was deployed on the suspect, but was unsuccessful, and a struggle between officers and the suspect ensued. The suspect was taken into custody and was identified as Connor Hersey, age 28, of Enfield, NH. One officer was spit on by Hersey, while another officer received a minor injury.
Hersey was charged with Criminal Threatening with a deadly weapon and Robbery, both Class B Felony offenses. Hersey was also charged with Theft, Resisting Arrest, and Simple Assault, all Class A misdemeanor offenses. Hersey was released by a bail commissioner on personal recognizance bail, with a Grafton County Superior Court date of May 03, 2021.
