[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm

The City of Lebanon is currently under a Winter Storm Warning until 0900 hours on Wednesday, March 15th. Snow will continue to be heavy through this afternoon and early evening. Snow totals are predicted to be between 12 - 18 inches. Winds are expected to gust this afternoon impacting visibility due to blowing snow.

Public Safety Officials would like to offer the following safety tips:

  • To assist with both emergency vehicle traffic and snow plowing operations we are urging commuters to stay off of the road unless it is an emergency;
  • Keep all doorways to your home free from snow;
  • Keep all heat and exhaust vents clear of snow. Blocked vents and exhaust ducts can lead to a build-up of Carbon Monoxide in your home. Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, colorless, and potentially deadly gas;
  • If using a portable generator make sure it is used outdoors and away from windows and doors.

The Fire Department would like to encourage all residents to “Adopt a Fire Hydrant”. Please find the Fire Hydrant’s nearest your house and make sure they are cleared of snow and other debris. This will help to ensure the Fire Department has access to the Hydrant if needed in an emergency.

Lebanon Public Safety officials will continue to monitor local conditions and provide updates as necessary.
