The season of gift-giving is upon us. Many gifts given nowadays require batteries. From remote control cars to hand-held devices like phones and tablets, batteries will be required.
At the Lebanon Recycling Center, rechargeable batteries can be recycled. These batteries are typically found in cordless phones, electronic toys, computers, and handheld devices. Look for a symbol on the battery that indicates that it is recyclable. Some batteries don’t have the symbol on it. Please DO NOT place batteries in our recycling bunkers. Also, DO NOT place them in your curbside recycling bin. If you are not sure, please ask one of our staff or email us.
To reduce battery waste, consider using rechargeable batteries instead of single-use alkaline batteries. Rechargeable batteries are easily recycled. Rechargeable batteries and chargers also make great gifts, especially when giving electronic gifts.
