As part of its mission to create opportunities for public art in the City, the Arts & Culture Commission has partnered with AVA Gallery and Arts Center to have students decorate the Colburn Park fountain cover panels with murals.
The murals will be unveiled to the community at 5:00pm on Thursday, October 31st, during the City’s Halloween FunFest. Participants and supporters will be recognized during a brief ceremony in Colburn Park.
Come recognize young area artists and check out the new installations while you’re downtown celebrating Halloween!
Here is a sneak peak of the fountain covers as well as the young artists who created them. The artists are participants in Art Stop!, a free, after-school program offered by AVA Gallery and Art Center. They are shown in these photos with their AVA Art Gallery teacher, Karl Neubauer.
