[ARCHIVED] 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

We will never forget photo of American Flag and Lebanon Fire Fighters

The Lebanon Fire Department will be holding a September 11th Remembrance Ceremony on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 beginning at 0846 hours. The ceremony will take place in front of Station 1 located on South Park Street in downtown Lebanon.

The remembrance ceremony will include the sounding of the department bell in sequences of five blows in commemoration of those who lost their lives 17 years ago during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The significance of the sequence of 5 relates to a long-standing fire service tradition of sounding "Box 5" by either ringing a bell or sounding a whistle to indicate the ultimate sacrifice: a line-of-duty death. Further, the bell reflects each significant time stamp of the September 11th, 2001 attacks.

We invite all to join with us in remembrance of those who lost their lives that day.
