On August 5, 2019 at approximately 9:54 PM, the Lebanon Police Department received multiple calls about people arguing loudly, and mention of a gun. One caller advised he was “pistol whipped” by an unknown male that went into an apartment on Granite Street.
Lebanon Officers responded and spoke with the victim as well as numerous witnesses on scene. It was learned that the suspect approached the victim to confront him about his speed on the road. The male then pulled a pistol and pointed it at the victim and ultimately struck him with it, causing a head injury. The male party was identified as David Jones, age 36, of Lebanon.
Jones was taken into custody without incident. Jones was also found to be a convicted felon out of Florida. A search warrant was granted and executed at Jones’ apartment, where the suspected firearm was recovered, as well as several other firearms throughout the residence.
Jones was charged with Felon in Possession of Dangerous Weapon, a Class B Felony, and Criminal Threatening Conduct with a Firearm, and First Degree Assault with a Firearm, both Class A Felonies. Jones was held without bail and was transported to the Grafton County House of Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned today, August 6, 2019, in the Grafton County Superior Court.
