On July 22, 2019 at approximately 9:15 AM, the Lebanon Police Department received a call regarding a 23-year-old male who was armed with a loaded handgun and threatening suicide, while in an apartment on Pinetree Lane. During the initial response, it was determined that there was a female in the apartment along with the male armed with the handgun. A short time later, the female party was able to leave the apartment and speak with police.
Lebanon Police Department patrol units were joined by Lebanon Police Detectives and members of the Lebanon Police Tactical and Containment Team as a perimeter was formed around the building where the apartment was located. The Hartford, VT Police Department and the Lebanon Fire Department also responded to assist. Access to the complex was restricted during the incident and a shelter in place order was in the process of being sent out when the male subject surrendered himself to officers at approximately 9:50 AM.
The 23-year-old male was subsequently transported to DHMC for evaluation. There are no criminal charges pending as the result of this incident and no injuries reported.
