Residency Requirements For Motor Vehicle Registrations

New Residents Renting

One of the following must be presented:

  • Lease agreement: signed, dated and in effect. Please note, sublets are not accepted.
  • Recently dated utility bill indicating full name and physical address (current within 30 days).
  • A signed and notarized Affidavit of Residency from property owner/property manager. Each registrant must prove residency. 

New Property Owner

One of the following must be presented:

  • Signed real estate closing statement, deed, mortgage statement, or property tax bill. 
  • USPS Change of Address form
  • Paystub
  • Certificate of Occupancy (CO) for new home.
  • A document showing that you enrolled a dependent minor child in a public school within the City, showing your name and legal address.
  • Recently dated public utility bill indicating full name and physical address (current within 30 days).

Child Living with Parent

One of the following must be presented:

Child Living with Any Other Relative

One of the following must be presented:

  • A signed and notarized Affidavit of Residency. The parents must sign in front of a notary public. If parents rent, then the affidavit must be completed by the property owner or manager. 

Hotels & Motels

This applies to any hotel or motel in Lebanon providing weekly and monthly rates only.

  • Written/signed statement by the manager on the hotel's letterhead indicating the amount of time the individual(s) has been living there and what period of time they expect to be living here. Letter must be recently dated.

Campgrounds

This applies to campgrounds within Lebanon:

  • Residents: Signed statement on letterhead from the campground owner/manager indicating the dates the individual(s) reside at the campground. Must be in one of the year-round buildings on the property and not in a camper. Dates must exceed a 6-month time frame. 
  • Non-residents: Non-resident registrations can only be offered to residents of other states who stay seasonally at a campground. To register, you must have a permanent abode in another state and present an out of state driver's license at time of registration.  The campground owner/manager must provide a statement on letterhead to the City Clerk's Office. 

Any Additional Circumstance

For all other circumstances, documentation will be required at the City Clerk's discretion.
