Visitors / Residents Rationale

When you visit downtown, what is your most frequent reason for doing so?

Some residents have even submitted letters and sketches describing and depicting their ideas for improving the look and feel of downtown Lebanon.

In addition to the online survey, many people have also written their ideas on "I Wish Downtown Lebanon ..." posters placed in City Hall and a few other locations. Some of the comments received through these posters include:

I Wish Downtown Lebanon...
"...had more roadside trees along Hanover Street."
"...had a coffee shop / bookstore combo."
"...had a place for kids and teens to have a safe place to go."
"...had a riverfront path and benches."
"...had a pharmacy in town."
"...had more benches in the park."
"...had fewer ugly, unmaintained signs."
"...had a really good Mexican restaurant with a bar!"

Moving forward, the consultants will weave all of the various ideas and input into several alternative visions for the broader downtown and for the tunnel, in particular. A second Public Meeting will be held in late January or early February to present and discuss these alternatives with the community.

Based on the feedback received at the second Public Meeting, the consultants will begin to focus-in on the community's preferred vision, which will be presented and reviewed at a third Public Meeting later in the Spring.

Thank you to all who have participated thus far; your thoughts and suggestions have been invaluable! Please continue to stay involved and encourage your friends and neighbors to do so as well. This is your downtown, so please share your ideas about what will make it better. I can be reached at: my email (David Brooks, Director) or 603-448-1457 or visit the City offices at:
