We are pleased to report that we had 357 eligible contestants for our 2019 Top Dog contest. From these contestants, Mayor Timothy McNamara randomly selected three winners for the Top Dog prize packages and City Clerk Sandra Allard chose the Clerk's Choice Award Winner. The winners were selected and announced during the May 1st City Council Meeting and awarded their fabulous prizes on Saturday, May 18, 2019 during the Lebanon Police Department’s K9 Awareness Day.
Our 2019 Top Dog Winner is Lucky, the aptly named Beagle Mix. Lucky lives in Lebanon with his owner, John Andrews. Lucky will be sporting the City of Lebanon Dog Tag #1 and bragging to his canine friends about the certificate signed by Mayor Timothy McNamara and City Clerk Sandra Allard. He will also enjoy a one year supply of dog food, a subscription to Barkbox.com, a grooming gift certificate, a day at the Lebanon Memorial Pool, and a wonderful gift basket full of goodies.
Our first runner-up is Jasper, a Terrier Mix, owned by Amanda Goff and family, of West Lebanon. Jasper will receive Dog Tag #2, a certificate signed by the Mayor and City Clerk, and a $100 gift certificate to West Lebanon Feed and Supply.
Our second runner-up is Daisy, a Jack Russell Terrier, owned by Barbara Patch of Lebanon. Daisy has received Dog Tag #3, a certificate signed by the Mayor and City Clerk, and a $50 gift certificate to West Lebanon Feed and Supply.
The 2019 Clerk's Choice Award went to Petey, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi owned by Claire Geno of Lebanon. For their prize, Petey and Claire received a custom-made pillow from local textile artist Sara Rae Fiber Art. Although the winner was selected in May, the quilting process takes time. Petey’s patience paid off on August 30th when he was able to claim his prize. Petey seems to approve of his pillow!
